Sitcoms to Watch When You Are Bored

Nothing to do at home this weekend? Why don’t you stream some feel-good sitcoms and start randomly watching them from any episode you want? Sometimes we just want light content to escape the mundane routine. A random episode from any sitcom playing in the background while you leisurely do other things or just take a breather can make you feel a whole lot better. If you have been wondering which TV show to put on, then keep reading this article because we are going to highlight some of the top feel-good sitcoms.

So, without further ado, let’s get started!

1. Friends (1994 – 2004)

Even after all these years, Friends continues to be every fan’s favorite. It gave us one of the most wholesome, hilarious, and emotional moments of cinematic history. With options of so many episodes, you can just start watching it from anywhere you want and it will still make you feel better.

The show follows a tight-knit group of six friends, who go through different stages of life. Set in New York City, Friends introduce you to Joey, Chandler, Monica, Phoebe, Ross, and Rachel as they maneuver through their lives while sipping coffee in Central Perk.

You can catch all the episodes of this show on HBO Max or you can watch its reruns on Comedy Central. For this, you will need a dependable internet connection or an impressive cable TV service. In this regard, we recommend checking out Mediacom paquetes that offer internet and cable services in one place. This way, you can watch Friends as many times as you want.

2. That 70’s Show (1998 – 2006)

If you are looking for a show that an entire family can watch together, then we suggest you check out That 70’s Show on Netflix. It has an amazing cast, a funny storyline, great dialogue, and a group of friends. For a good laugh and light content, this sitcom can be a perfect choice.

Set in the 1970s, the show gives you all the retro-hip vibes with its comedic delivery and a group of friends that are just entering their adolescent years. This eclectic group lives in a suburban area, where they all make plans to become independent one day.

3. Parks and Recreation (2009 – 2015)

It may just be a political mockumentary, yet Parks and Recreation have gained massive popularity due to its absurd comedy and comedic take on public officials and government departments. The first season may be a little slow but you can skip it and watch the sitcom from the second season, and you can still catch on the entire storyline.

The show revolves around the employees of the park and recreation department of a fictional town; in Indiana. On one hand, you have Leslie Knope, who is passionate about her job and bringing change in society, while on the other hand, you have employees like Ron Swanson, Tom Haverford, and April Ludgate, who cannot despise their job any more than they already do.

You get to see these characters growing over the seven seasons of the show, which by the way, you can watch on Philo.

4. Modern Family (2009 – 2020)

When it comes to family-centered sitcoms, nothing beats Modern family, in our opinion. Every episode in the show is entertainment-filled with a perfect blend of comedy, emotions to make you tear up, and a whole lot of drama. Modern Family is available on Hulu to stream right now.

Shot in the form of a documentary, Modern Family gives insight into the three tightly knit families; Pritchett, Dunphy, and Tucker-Pritchett. Phil and Claire are raising their three kids, who are a bit handful, while Cam and Mitchell – being the gay couple – are doing their best to raise their adopted daughter; Lily. On the other hand, Jay Pritchett, father of Claire and Mitchel, is adjusting to his life with his new Columbian wife and stepson.

5. Schitt’s Creek (2015 – 2020)

It would not be a stretch to say that Schitt’s Creek is a criminally underrated sitcom. It has tons of laugh-out-loud moments and a phenomenal cast that makes the show even more entertaining to watch. You can re-watch it as many times as you want, and you will still enjoy it, as much as you did the first time.

Rose’s family has gone bankrupt and now all they have to their name is a town Johnny bought for his son as a joke, called Schitt’s Creek. Going from filthy rich to living in a motel, the show follows the journey of the Rose family as they navigate through their newfound poverty while trying to stay together as a family.

You can start watching Schitt’s Creek on Hulu right away!
